Description Fiberglass TG-430, 100 cm

Fiberglass is a woven or non-woven material that is made from fiberglass made from certain types of glass. To obtain fiberglass from molten glass, thin filaments are extruded using an extrusion technique. The thickness of such a thread varies from 3 to 100 microns, and this is enough for it to easily bend and not break.

The properties of fiberglass and its characteristics are unique and not characteristic of its source material – glass. The main property of fiberglass is flexibility, fiberglass can bend without breaking its integrity and does not break on impact.

More about the properties of fiberglass:
– Water resistant;
– Heat resistance;
– High dielectric properties;
– Low weight and high strength;
– Safe for the environment.
– Chemical resistance, electrical insulation and incombustibility – these properties of fiberglass received from glass. Due to the unique structure, this material can take any shape and has good thermal insulation.

The use of fiberglass is widespread as a structural and reinforcing material, in particular, fiberglass is used for the manufacture of structures for various purposes:
– Car parts;
– Elements of yachts;
– Small buildings.

Scope of fiberglass

The field of use of fiberglass is quite wide. The most common use of fiberglass fabric is to use it for the production of fiberglass or reinforcing other products. The technology for using this material is as follows:

– A full-scale model of the future product is made by hand from wood, clay or plasticine.
– To prevent sticking to the form of the binder, it is coated with grease, petroleum jelly or other special compound.
– Then the form is glued with fiberglass in several layers. Each layer is ironed with a roller, and you do not need to wait for complete drying before moving on to the next layer.
– The product is dried, and then the finished result is removed from the mold and processed.
– In order to achieve the best quality of the outer surface, it is necessary to make a mold on a matrix. The model of the future product is placed in a box, treated with petroleum jelly and filled with plaster. After a while, the plaster mold is removed, and the recess is used instead of the mold.

To achieve high strength, you need to use about four layers of fiberglass. Only the made mixture of epoxy resin and hardener will polymerize within 15-20 minutes, this must be taken into account. The product can be used 3-4 days after complete cooling. It can be painted in any color, for this you need to add a dye of a certain shade to the binder. To make the surface textured, it is necessary to use non-woven fiberglass, or with a special type of fastening.

As for the reinforcement of various structures, in this case, fiberglass should simply be glued onto the product. This material is also perfect for thermal insulation and fencing of heating structures. It can be used to protect against sparks, molten metal drops, bonding plastic films and many other situations.
