Description Sintepon ≠ ~20mm, 200gr/m2, W = 1500mm
Sintepon is a synthetic material, which includes polyester fibers. Occasionally wool and cotton can be added to it. A synthetic winterizer fabric consists of several layers connected parallel to each other. Its density varies from 40 g/m3 to 1.5 kg/m3, and the thickness depends on the application.
Basic properties:
– lightness, low weight;
– low hygroscopicity;
– thermal insulation properties;
– low melting point;
– non-toxicity and safety;
– resistance to deformation.

As for the disadvantages, the fibers under the influence of mechanical loads are disconnected from each other, which leads to deformation and rolling of the insulating layer, and melt at high temperature. In addition, one must take into account the fact that although polyester fibers are considered harmless in themselves, the presence of wool additives in them, and also the use of glue, can cause allergies.
Fields of application of padding polyester
A versatile, lightweight and inexpensive synthetic winterizer finds a wide variety of applications as an insulating material, soft padding, bulk filler. It is used:
– by production of upholstered furniture;
– for a warming layer in outerwear – both ordinary and special or tourist;
– as a filler for bedding, camping equipment, decorative items, soft toys, etc.
– as a filter material, in particular in aquariums;
– as a heater in construction works.
A separate category is made up of varieties of synthetic winterizer with various additives. Sherstepon containing wool fibers is most often used for making warm blankets. A mixture of polyester and cotton fibers is used as an intermediate layer when performing decorative volumetric stitching.
