Sodium metasilicate – is a light, finely crystalline powder, easily soluble in water, and absorbs carbon dioxide and water in air. An aqueous solution has an alkaline reaction. It is the sodium salt of metasilicic acid and is a hydrated sodium silicate. Produced by isohydric crystallization from an alkali-silica solution.

Application:
Sodium metasilicate is used:
- in the production of household and technical detergents, bleaching and cleaning products;
- in the oil industry;
- as a coagulant for the release of regenerating oils during oil refining;
- in the textile industry for bleaching;
- in the metallurgical and mechanical engineering industry in the process of neutralizing the metal surface;
- in the food industry in the process of refining vegetable oil;
- in aqueous processing as a corrosion inhibitor and minor coagulant;
- in everyday life and at work for disinfection of premises, linen, dishes, plumbing;
- in the production of engine coolants;
- in the construction and road construction industries.
