Description

Urotropin technical is a white crystalline caking powder obtained by condensation of formaldehyde with ammonia.

It is obtained by the contact conversion of methanol to formaldehyde, which interacts with ammonia in the liquid phase to form hemotropin crystals, followed by their isolation by precipitation and centrifugation.

Application:
Urotropin technical is used in the production of plastics, synthetic rubber, varnish films; in medicine, as an antiseptic; in analytical chemistry for the preparation of buffer solutions, for microcrystalloscopic discovery of a number of ions; in the food industry; in pyrotechnics.
