Description Hose for asphalt and bitumen ø 100/118 mm (4.5 m)
The high quality pressure hose is used for pumping hot oil products such as bitumen, asphalt and oil.
Hot bitumen hoses are not suitable for continuous operation at temperatures above 200°C. They can be used briefly at higher temperatures. But this affects safety and shortens the service life.
Hoses for hot bitumen should not be bent at the junction with fittings, but in the middle. Therefore, these hoses have a significantly larger bend radius than fuel truck hoses. At high temperatures, the rubber hose becomes soft and the inner rubber loses its strength. Large bend radii will extend hose life.
Do not close hot! Hot hoses must not be closed at the ends, as a vacuum is created during cooling. When cooling from 200° C to 0° C, a vacuum of more than 0.4 bar (approx. 4 m water column) is created in the closed hose line. Thus, the inner rubber may peel off.
