Caustic soda is used in the chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, medical, food industries, non-ferrous metallurgy, textile industry, in the production of viscose silk and bleaching fabrics, in the aniline industry, in soap making, in the production of aluminum and metallic sodium, soluble glass, alkaline batteries , in water treatment processes and other areas of the national economy.
Chemical industry. Caustic soda neutralizes acids, acts as a reagent and catalyst in chemical reactions, is used in the production of pure metals, oils, detergents, biofuels.
Room disinfection. Sodium hydroxide is part of solutions that purify the air from components harmful to humans.
Food industry. NaOH regulates acidity, prevents clumping and caking, so it is used as an additive to chocolate, caramel, jam, ice cream, margarine and some other products. Bakery products sodium hydroxide gives splendor and ruddy.
Cosmetic industry. Caustic soda saponifies fats, therefore it is included in the formulas of shampoos, soaps, creams.
Light industry. Caustics are used to bleach linen and cotton.
