Polyurethane (PU)

Polyurethane is a modern alternative to materials such as metal, rubber, plastic, and various types of rubber. Possessing all the advantages of the aforementioned materials, polyurethane is widely used in various fields. Its outstanding characteristics, such as high wear resistance, elasticity, and strength, have made it an indispensable component in both industry and everyday life.

This material surpasses metal in strength, is resistant to vibrations, unaffected by microorganisms and mold, can withstand temperature and humidity fluctuations, is waterproof, and inert to many chemical influences.

Polyurethane maintains its properties over a wide temperature range, ranging from -60°C to 110°C, with some types capable of withstanding even 150°C. The maximum pressure it can withstand is 1200 atmospheres. Its hardness on the Shore scale exceeds 85 units.

Industrial production of polyurethane began relatively recently, in the middle of the last century. Its versatility allowed it to quickly find applications in many industrial sectors. The material is used to manufacture seals in the form of cuffs and rings, belts, bushings and rollers, conveyor belts, and much more. Many of us probably do not even realize that this material is all around us: in shoe soles, children’s toys, car steering wheels, and interior decor elements such as molding.

Some enterprises have the need to purchase polyurethane to ensure safety measures. For example, plates are an ideal covering for slippery surfaces such as tiles, marble, and granite. You can buy polyurethane from a reliable supplier in the technical products market, such as “ChemLV,” offering a wide range of plates and polyurethane rods (25 mm – 110 mm).

A wide range of technical plastics, technical fabrics, and other goods for your production are available in stock.
